The history of winemaking in Salzburg dates back to Roman times, when the Romans introduced the vine to Iuvavum, as Salzburg was then called. Despite the challenges of cultivating wine in this region, there are now seven distinct vineyards across the state. For years, local winemakers have been producing Salzburg’s rare and unique varieties.
Salzburg’s beer culture has an equally rich history, spanning over 600 years. Hop thrived in the region, and several breweries have been crafting beer since 1475, selling their brews in local taverns throughout the city.
On this tour, you will taste some of these rare wines and beers, complemented by small culinary delights, giving you a true taste of the Salzburg way of life.
